Chicken and Gravy
Ingredients
6 bone-in skin-on drumsticks
1 tbsp. flour
1/2 stick of butter
1/2-1 cup low sodium chicken stock
Tonys creole seasoning
Pepper
Onion powder
Garlic powder
Paprika
Parsley
Oregano
1 package of baby carrots
1 packet of brown gravy mix
Instructions
Get a crockpot and cover the bottom with one tablespoon of flour.
Add your drumsticks in a single layer in the crockpot and season with tonys creole, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, parsley, and some oregano to taste. Make sure you massage these seasonings into your chicken for maximum flavor.
Add 1/2-1 cup of low-sodium chicken stock to the crock pot. You only want the stock to come about halfway up, and your drumsticks do not fully cover them with the stock.
Add 1/2 a stick of butter, cut them into small pieces, and place them on top of your drumsticks in the crockpot.
Add your package of baby carrots.
Cook on high for 4-5 hours in the crockpot, depending on the size of the drumsticks.
Once the timer is up on the crockpot, pull the drumsticks out carefully and add them to your air fryer at 350 for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through to crisp and caramelize the skin. If, for some reason, your seasoning didn’t stick to your chicken you’re okay to season them again with the same seasonings listed above.
Once your timer is up, plate the drumsticks along with your now fork-tender carrots. Scoop 1 cup of broth from your crockpot and whisk in your packet of brown gravy mix. Pour back into the crockpot when you’re done, and lightly mix around with the other flavors.
Top the drumsticks and carrots with the gravy in your crockpot and serve!
